Installation and Setup
Build the default Compose deployment from current source, configure persistence and complete first sign-in.
Prerequisites
You need Git, Docker with Compose, and access to the source version. A separate host database is unnecessary. The default combination is Core, Portal and mosaic-admin. SQLite, authentication state and media persist in named volumes without Redis.
Build and start
Obtain the source and copy the production template. Use a protected local editor to configure independent random secrets and actual origins before starting. There is no default administrator password.
git clone https://github.com/Morphicai/morphixai-cms.git mosaic-base
cd mosaic-base
cp .env.cms.example .env
# Configure the required secrets and origins locally.
docker compose -f docker-compose.cms.yml up -d --buildAccess and initialize
Default local origins are Portal http://localhost:8086 and Administration http://localhost:8090. Production Core is not exposed on the host by default. Create your own account at Administration /setup, then sign in with the actual captcha.
When changing domains, align MOSAIC_ADMIN_PUBLIC_URL, MOSAIC_PORTAL_PUBLIC_URL, SITE_PUBLIC_URL and the authentication origin. Use HTTPS for public sign-in; HTTP IP Cookie behavior is not a production authentication guarantee.
Preserve data and secrets
Database, media and logs use named volumes. Authentication state persists in the database; optional Redis uses its own volume. Preserve them when rebuilding; do not use down -v. Keep encryption and identifier-lookup secrets unchanged. Volume-preserving rebuilds are tested; complete cross-instance backup and recovery remain deferred.
docker compose -f docker-compose.cms.yml logs --tail=100 core
docker compose -f docker-compose.cms.yml down
docker compose -f docker-compose.cms.yml up -d
